The project is expected to provide millions of dollars in new revenue to the county, towns and school districts to reduce the local tax burden or invest in infrastructure, additional services and resources for residents.


Hundreds of Jobs in St. Lawrence County

Gateway Solar Energy Center is expected to create hundreds of jobs during construction, full-time positions, and opportunities for landscaping and snow plowing throughout the life of the project.


Support for Local Landowners

Through land agreements, Gateway Solar Energy Center will support the local economy by infusing revenue into local landowners and diversifying their income.

The Gateway Solar Energy Center is proposed by a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, an experienced community partner and the world’s largest generator of wind and solar energy, with generating facilities across the United States and in Canada.
